How do I insert ‘Easy Slider’ sliders into my WordPress pages or posts?

When you are editing your slider within the WordPress Dashboard, you will see a box with the heading

on the right-hand side. Copy the slider shortcode and Paste this copied shortcode into the page or post where you would like your slider to appear. This is also the method to use if you want to insert your slider into a text widget or another custom content type, such as a portfolio post.

How do I define slide background images?

The

box for each slide in your slider allows you to define a background image for each slide. Note that the content you add to each slide within the slide editor box for each slide is foreground content and sits on

top

of the slide background – this content can be other images and textual content.

To set a slide background image, click the

setting determines if, and how the background image is stretched/shrunk to cover the slide content area and the

How Revolution Slider is Used Within X or Pro

Now that we learned how to add slides in Revolution Slider and create the slider, we need to add the created slider to a page of our website. The standard way of doing so is to use the Classic Revolution Slider element of the Cornerstone in the X and Content Builder in the Pro theme. Search for the Classic Revolution Slider in the Elements tab of the builder to find the element and drag it to the page:

The Classic Revolution Slider element has one option and that is to select the slider that you already have created. The option will list all the slides that you created using the Revolution Slider plugin.

Due to the complicated nature of the slides and the way Revolution Slider plugin embeds the assets to show the slides you can not see the slides on the fly in the builder. You will see a message mentioning that no preview is available and you need to check the front end of the website to see the actual result.

Creating Slides Using Revolution Slider

We are going to show how to add a slider using the Revolution Slider plugin. The example is a simple case of a background image for the slide and a text over the background image. The plugin is capable of virtually unlimited effects and layers that you can use as a slide which we recommend to learn more using the official documentation mentioned in the Further Reading section.

1. Go to Revolution Slider > Revolution Slider menu item.
2. Click the plus (+) button to add a New Slider at the top corner of the screen.
3. Set the Content Source that you want to use for your slider. We will select the Default Slider in our case.
4. Add a Title and Alias for the slider.
5. Select the Slider Type, we select the Standard Sider in our case.
6. Select the Slider Layout for the slider. We select the Auto layout in our case.
7. Click the Save Settings button at the bottom corner of the screen.
8. You will be redirected to the slide creation screen to add a background and a layer.
9. Use the Main Background section to add a background image which shows the standard WordPress media selection dialog.
10. Click the Add Layer button and choose a Text layer to add the text that you want.
11. You can repeat the layer addition step to add different kinds of layer available in the plugin.

Getting Started

Go to: Pro > Validation or X > Validation for then look for Revolution Slider. Click Install.

Once installed, the Install button will change and say Activate. Click that button and it will activate the plugin. You will then see the status change to Installed and Activated.

You will now see the Revolution Slider menu item on your WordPress dashboard.

Installation

Install This Plugin either via the WordPress.org plugin directory, or by uploading the files to your server.

After activating responsive slidshow , go to plugin menu.

Click Add New Slider and upload image.

Publish the slider and copy the shortcode from the settings page and embed shortcode on any Page/Post/Text Widget.

To make space between the layers, you can use padding and margins. Why is it good? Because of that, you can create a responsive slider with minimal effort, and it will look great on every device. Also, you have the option to combine these 2 modes by which you can achieve every design as you imagined.

Animations

Slider Revolution has more options where you can animate your slider or your layers. You can put animation on your layers, on your background, you can use Ken Burns or parallax effect, so there are many options. However, in the free version of Smart Slider, you can use only background animations. Layer animations and a lot of other effects are available only in the Smart Slider Pro.

Speed

I have created a Smart Slider free demo with Slider Revolution to test the speed of each plugin. I published both sliders into a new empty page.

As you can see, Smart Slider was faster than the Slider Revolution, and also the page size is less than the other plugin’s page. I didn’t use any optimization settings, which can speed up the results – so the speed test was made with the basic settings of each plugin. As we can see from the results, we can say that Smart Slider is faster, which isn’t bad for a free plugin, right?

Smart Slider can be a great free Slider Revolution alternative because you can create more kinds of sliders with this plugin. Let’s see some examples of what kind of sliders you can create with Smart Slider as with Slider Revolution.
